If you take out the rubber grommet, the whole is just a hair larger than a 3/8" ID hose. I'm not sure exactly how to wedge it in there for a tighter fit but I'll cross that bridge when it's forced upon me.

I am thinking that if you drilled our a larger hole, you could do it so that a 1" hose would fit very snuggly, and be a good blow off tube. I'd like to see pics if anyone has them too!

You can also take an airlock and cut the bottom off of it where it makes an x and simply slide a 1/2" hose over the inner tube on the air lock and run that into your blow off container. I do it whenever I use a bucket for a primary and only once have I had it clog but that was due to a blueberry getting lodge in it.
