Castle Eggenberg Urbock 23°

Sun Jun 26, 2005 1:36 pm

11.2 oz. brown bottle. No freshness date seen. None needed either. This is one powerful beer. Poured out a pale, straw yellow color, with a very fast fading white head. It did, however, leave a slight ring of lacing around the edge of the glass. Aromas right away are of strong yeast, pale malts, and a slight fruitiness as well. Tastes even stronger than it's cousin, Urbock Eisbock. Man, this beer will take your breath away. Tastes very strongly of alcohol at first, then the malts kick in to take the egde off. Not much bitterness here, hop wise. Surprisingly smooth for a beer of this caliber.
