COSTCO BEERS

Tue Feb 05, 2008 6:13 am

Hey this sounds pretty cool for you Costco shoppers. Gordon Beirsch is going to be brewing and bottle 4 craft style beers for Costco Lable brand Kirkland. So anyway... They sound good

They are going to be a Hefe, Pale Ale, Amber Ale, and a German Lager. I have never had any of the stuff the GB brews for Trader Joes but have read that they are pretty good. And I have only had 1 or 2 GB beers in my lifetime, and they were good. So this might be something new and exciting to get at my local Costco.

The Trader Joes beers are pretty good. They are also pretty cheap which rocks.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll defiantly keep on eye out for them at Costco.

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.

I only make it in to Costco once or twice a year... and somehow I spend a friggin fortune.

Thanks.

Something tells me you will have to buy it 10 cases at a time.

Mmm...Kirkland Signature beer!

I've bought Sam Adams there one case at a time for a really good price.

Yeah, that was a sad attempt to make a joke. I have bought quite a bit of beer there. They have great prices on bulk orders.

Jay Brooks has written two entires on his GREAT blog about this. He's not a fan of it, due to the possibility it will result in existing brands being dropped by Costco. Here's the link:

Good back and forth in the comments.

I doubt it will be as bad as he predicts I expect closer to a wash or maybe even bringing the joys of craft beer to more folk. He really seems down on it but I can't see it being that bad for the industry.
