Question folks, i've got a vial of white labs Cal 5 in the fridge that was best before mid-december. With a regular yeast starter am in cool? or do i need to make a 1000ml then build up to a 2000ml?

Yeah, I agree with Bub, go straight to a 2L starter and you'll be fine.
