Farmhouse Red from Blue Moon.
Luckily I didn't have high expectations, but I wanted to see what it was about anyways. It's labeled as a saison/flanders style. Not exactly sure what that's supposed to be, but that's what they're calling it. They made 1 sale on the "What the fuck?" factor. Kudos.
"An intriguing interpretation of a Saison blended with a Flanders-style Red Ale, with hints of white pepper & a tart finish."
It's not sour. Or tart. Or bears any resemblance of a Flanders Red at all. It's not anything like a saison either.
There's not really anything going on in the flavor, nothing worth mentioning at least. It drinks like macro swill (surprise). I suppose it's a saison, only it's not dry... and fermented with a yeast made for an American wheat. I suppose it's a Flanders style because... hmm... well I can't think of any similarities on any level to any Flanders Red I've ever had. Wait, no. It's carbonated.
