Just landed a big client in Dallas, TX, so I'm sure I'll be travelling there in the next few months sometime, what do you guys have for me? Mostly looking for local beweries, either brewpub or what's made locally that I'll be able to find in restaurants/hotel. I may not have a rental car, so the smaller the driving radius, the better. Once I have specific plans I'll come back to see if there are any events going on as well.

Humperdinks is a chain brew pub that's pretty good. Uncle Bucks in Grapevine is cool. It's part of a Bass Pro Shop. There's a Two Rows brew pub in Addison, and Zio Carlo in Fort Worth.

With the explosion of breweries in Dallas, your best bet would be some craft bars. Depends on where your client is. If it's downtown, The Common Table is a great restaurant with a huge craft beer list. I have not been to Meddlesome Moth but hear it's great. Flying Saucer and Gingerman are in the Metroplex. My favorite Flying Saucer is on the lake, on the east side.

First, if you have no car you are screwed, public transportation here sucks. Humperdinks isn't that good, but will do in a pinch, only a few locations actually make beer though and its the same beers as Big Horn Brewing, CB & Potts and a few other places under different names around the US but the Greenville Ave location is the best and makes some original house beers. Two Rows hasn't made their own beer for 6 years, so I wouldn't recommend them either unless you want a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale sold (illegaly) under their house name. Uncle Bucks is touristy but near the airport so thats good I guess. Zio Carlos is much better than it once was, and has some good brews coming out now that they have a good head brewer, but it's in Ft. Worth. Gordon Biersch is good, but not Texan and that's it for brewpubs in DFW for now. Craft beer bars are everywhere, and the breweries around here are much more plentiful than brewpubs, all of which offer Saturday tours at varying times, and a few offer a tour during the week.

Thank you both, good feedback on the craft bars... in Philly we have so many brewpubs that do make their own beer that it's odd to hear of one that resells a major under their own name, how do they get away with that??

+1 for nice site. What breweries in DFW, or TX as a whole, do you recommend seeking out? I plan to leave room in my luggage to bring some home, as well as check out one or two of the craft bars, specifically looking for local brew. The only Texan brewery I've heard of already is Jester King in Austin, who (obviously) aren't on the DFW list you linked. Lastly, are Prairie Artisan Ales available in DFW? They're in OK and I hear good things about their brew too.
