Louisiana

I will be in Louisiana and surrounding states in December. I would like to visit a few small breweries and brew pubs in the area. I live in Alaska though and have no idea whats good in the region.

Unfortunately Louisiana is kind of a craft beer/brewpub desert. There are a couple brewpubs in New Orleans. Abita has a few more varieties available in state than out of state. I think Mississippi has one brewery. Texas has a lot more. One of my favorite places in Texas is a bar called Craft Pride in downtown Austin. They have all Texas beers on tap.

They have a handful. I think Lazy Magnolia is the only one that distributes outside the state though.

Where exactly in the "surrounding states" are you going?

Alabama has had a surge of good breweries in the last few years. If you are going to be in bama, you have Fairhope Brewing in south Alabama, and Good People, Avondale, Cahaba are all in Birmingham. There are a few more in other cities around Alabama too. Crooked Letter is also a new one in Biloxi Mississippi if you are going to be around there.

Where exactly are you going to be?
