Well if the BN doesn't win COTY, they will most likely be the loudest people cheering, showing all those lame people last year how to cheer for the accomplishments achieved. Or it could be that the BN people will be the most drunk...either way it's a win!

I didn't hear boos last year. Maybe because I was cheering, but still. I spoke with a couple of others who didn't hear boos.

Unfortunately, I heard boos last year. Lame.

Any ideas what typical scores medal?

My scores:
Dry Stout 36.5
Mild 28
Belgian Specialty 33

I'm guessing 40 would be a medal score? Think I'm happy with the two 30s. Not sure about the 28. I really liked that beer. It will be interesting to read the score sheet. It was a pale mild with just crystal though. I'm not sure there was a category for it.

40 doesn't necessarily mean a medal, especially if you go to a mini-BOS (where conceivably a 30 could beat a 40). You need at least a 30 to qualify to place. That 36 is a great score, but the stout category is usually one with a lot of entries, and a lot of competition. I got a 37 for my DIPA but got booted in mini-BOS.

Me too. I was towards the back of the room and was the only one in my area standing up and cheering when we won COTY.

Great 1st time scores.

I think you will get a bronze sheet for the 28 and 2 silver sheets for the 33 and 36.5

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Does anyone know how the point system works? Is it that the maximum points a club can get in a category 12? Does it have to be a first second and third placing to equal 12?

For example 1st = 6, 2nd = 4, 3rd = 2, and the total is 12. But, if a club has two first places (from different regions) does the club get 1st = 6, + 1st = 6, for 12 points. Or does that club only get 6 points?

I'm trying to add up totals

68 Scioto, Olentangy & Darby Zymurgists (SODZ)
68 Whidbey Island Zymurgy Association (WIZA)
76 Diablo Order of Zymiracle Enthusiasts (DOZE)
76 Urban Knaves of Grain
104 Saint Paul Homebrewers Club
172 QUAFF (Quality Ale and Fermentation Fraternity)
172 The Brewing Network

The date you get your score sheets is completely up to the regional organizer & staff.

I know that the Seattle region all should have theirs by now.
