Traveling with bottles

In a few weeks I'm going on a camping trip. I'm planning on taking a few cases of my homebrew. I currently store all my bottles around 68-70 degrees.

Is homebrew any different from commercial bottled beer when it comes to storage and temp? If my beer sets for several days at 80+ degrees before icing down will it be an issue?

I would say it's the same as commercial brew. Temp shifts may change the flavor of the beer, but that does not mean the beer is bad per say. Just different. That's my understanding anyways.

Warm temps will increase the rate at which the beer will age. If it spends a number of days pretty hot, it will be the equivalent of having spent a longer amount of time at a lower temp. If the beer is prone to oxidation, sitting hot may cause it to happen more quickly.

When i go on hunting trips that last a week or two and have more than 24hrs driving. I pack an ice chest FULL with drinks (soda, water, beer, ect) and just throw a few frozen water bottles in there. It keeps them at a steady temp but not cold. Then i have another smaller ice chest packed with ice that i throw a few into every once and a while.

If you have room for two ice chests your better off. If not, just try to keep them as cool as possible. Not major flavor change but some will happen at that heat.

I like this idea, keep the beer cool, but not cold until ready to drink. Thanks!
