Dry hopping in the keg..

I plan on doing this... I have cheese cloth I was going to put my dry hops in but I got to thinking about a stainless steel sponge, jammed at the bottom of the dip tube... Seem like it would be fine... What do y'all think?

I have been using the Surescreen for a couple of years now in four of my kegs. It is THE way to dry hop. It allows for 100% contactct with the hops and it lets you use stupid amounts. Another little improvement that I do is to chop my whole hops in a food processor to improve the utilization and to reduce the absorption of beer. For $8, it is the best money that I have spent on brewing.
You will also find that the ability to purge the keg with CO2 and transfer to and from the keg with CO2 also is very nice to reduce oxidation. Fresh hoppy beer is good.

My keg blew last night. Dry hops sat on the beer for 3+ weeks. No grassy-ness. I'll be dry hopping in the keg from here on out... I'll be grabbing the sure screen on my next trip to the LHBS

Doing it in the keg rocks. I use fine or course nylon bags depending on wether I use pellet or whole hops with a stainless steel bolt for a weight. Tons of flavor and aroma!

Will the SureScreen keep out all the hops if they are whole leaf and not bagged?

Will the SureScreen keep out all the hops if they are whole leaf and not bagged?

I have never used the SureScreen with whole hops but is sure works great with pellets just dumped into the keg. No bag needed.
