If you're using the sanitize and heat dry, that's fine, it should be able to sanitize your bottles. My points are 1) dishwasher won't reliably clean your bottles, and 2) probably not getting much from Star San addition.

If you want to keep using the dishwasher, make sure you clean the bottles first, make sure dishwasher is as clean as possible (food bits and the like) and I'd say just leave out the Star San and go with the wet heat.

[quote="pfootiOh, another little thing to make life easy: I put a 3/4" FPT/Slip 90 degree elbow on the inside of the bucket. The standard bucket bulkhead fitting is just a plastic nipple, so there's enough screw to attach the elbow to. Pointing down, it makes an amazing dip tube. That way, there's no holding the bucket at an angle for the entire last gallon; when the line goes empty, there's about three ounces left (which I usually pour off into a glass for later sampling). Amazingly cool upgrade for a $0.50 piece of plastic. Those damn buckets should come with them preinstalled.[/quote]

Nice idea! Love the ingenuity of homebrewers... :aaron
