Just my two cents...

I use bubble wrap on the bottles. And if the local weekly paper has a special edition, I'll use newspaper. But sometimes I have to use the peanuts that i get when I order ingredients.

Just order something from the BN and you can then reuse the PUBES that JP stuck to the package.

Just sayin'

Love to, Crupp, but unfortunately, it's just not in the cards.
See you in San Diego though, I hope!

How did they store the entries that were dropped at NBMKE? Were they kept temp controlled?

Just wondering, and got side tracked at NB and forgot to ask. Would have entered no matter what, just wondering.

Also, will result details be posted to BBM's website? I wanted to be there but my wife has family in town

Hammy

They were not kept in temp control. They were stored in the basement at NB. Which was in the 50s. Not much for heat down there. I agree temp control would have been ideal, NB doesn't have a walk in nor did we have access to another space with a cooler big enough.

Results are posted now at http://midwinterhbc.beerbarons.org/

Score sheets will be available for pick up at NB in a few days. Those not picked up will be mailed.

I totally agree with that. My fantasy rules:

22 oz bottles are getting tossed
odd shapped bottles like negra modelo, toss!
people that can't use automated entry systems and hand write their bottle labels, and some how expect to be entered into the comp computer system -TOSS!
People who can't rubber band a bottle label to the bottle - TOSS!
People who send odd numbers of bottles - TOSS!

I am sure there are more I could come up with.

i didn't think that hitler had any kids

isn't the point of holding a competition to get as many entries as you can? isn't the point of holding a competition to use your expertise in providing quality feedback about the beer?

maybe next year your club can hold a competition on not trying to piss you off.

unless your competition rules had EXPLICIT rules on how to ship beer, maybe next year you should just volunteer to do something else for your club. (fyi...i'd never volunteer as registrar...i'm more of a prize coordinator or judge coordinator type)

Hitler? Really Booboo? Talk about an ass-hat type comment :asshat: :asshat: but because you have big tits on your avatar I will let it go.

My point is, I think every AHA/BJCP sanctioned competition should follow the same rules as NHC. You can't send a bomber or a flip top bottle to NHC, why send it to any other competition?

http://www.homebrewersassociation.org/a ... esRegs.pdf

and if you care to look we did have bottle entry rules.

And since you were so nice to volunteer, I will gladly accept you as the prize coordinator
