2011 WEB Homebrew Competition! $1,000.00 Prize!!!

Hey soldiers:

I wanted to let you know about a great homebrew competition that is coming up. Over the past few years this competition has turned into a beer event as well as a BJCP sanctioned competition. This year they are expecting over 600 entiries and are proud to announce that BJPC Master Judge V and three time Ninkasi Award winner Gordon Strong will be judging and speaking over the course of the weekend.

There are big prizes available as well. BOS for beer will win a $1,000.00 gift certificate from Northern Brewer! BOS for mead and cider will receive a $250.00 gift certificate as well (from what place I need to double check).

Judging will be March 4th, 5th, and 6th in Frankenmuth, MI.

We're really stoked about this year's competition, and I'd love to have a big BN army showing. As Mills said, BOS beer wins $1000 at Northern Brewer http://www.northernbrewer.com. BOS Mead/Cider gets $500 at Adventures in Homebrewing http://www.homebrewing.org/.

We're a brewer and judge centered competition. We try to make it the best experience for our judges, and we do everything we can to make the competition the best experience possible for the brewer. Last year's score sheets were emailed out less than 24 hours after judging was complete, and that's our goal this year.

I'll consider entering if someone can tell me what category would be best for the Lagunitas Brown Shugga clone. Not sure it's a winner but I like this competition.

Edit: This is the only homebrew I have right now worth entering. God damn below zero temps f'd up my brew plans this weekend.

Despite whatever style I brew a beer to be, I always sit down with it and judge it out (not taking into account style). Try and throw out everything you want the beer to be and what it is supposed to be. Then match it up with whatever style is closest.

Yeah, just might try to get a few entered into that one. Always like getting good feedback on my beers and hardware is nice too! Sounds like some good competition!
