By the way, I did end up putting some sour cherry concentrate in this a while back.

I was wondering if the fermentation would kick off again. No visible signs of activity though.

Strange. You probably should have had some fermentation from the concentrate. What happens when you swirl the fermenter, do you notice any bubbles or mini krausen? maybe you missed the minimal fermentation that happened.

This has been in the carboy for right at 1 year. Also, I racked off of the initial yeast cake. I'm guessing the number of viable yeast cells here is low. So, the fact that it didn't violently ferment doesn't seem strange to me.

Your right, I could have missed it, but after adding the cherry concentrate there wasn't much room left in the carboy. Any significant action would have resulted in blow off.

If indeed the yeast is mostly out of the picture, that's a good thing to me. I'd rather have the bugs eat these fermentables and produce a bit more sourness.
