This is a continuation on my need help post about moving. I still have my
brew in primary after 11 days, was gonna move it in primary next week. The
krausen has fallen and there are a few remnant bubbles which I know is
normal. I had removed the hose the other day and put in a plug with a 3
piece airlock. I didn't empty the blowoff bucket till today and to my horror
there was mold or something growing in the water. I know, I probably should
have used something like starsan solution or something instead of straight
water but I had done it this way before with no problems. What is the chance
of my brew becoming infected? Should I try to secondary it? I look in the
primary carboy i see the top of the wort looks normal, save some remnant
krausen floating on top. But there is condensation inside as well at the top
and I'm worried(I know worrying is bad for beer) that it might start molding
as well. Can I save this beer? I Haven't checked the FG yet but it was OG
1.091. Will that high of an alcohol keep it from becoming infected or should
I try to bottle now. I really wanted to dry hop before bottling. FWIW it
also has had about 5 oz of hops added during the brew session. This was an
expensive brew and I really want to save it. Thanx in advance.
Gerard
