I bought 4 kegs (first time kegging) and i took the posts, rings, tubes, and popits off to clean them. when i went to put them back on, i noticed that i had 3 gas and 5 liquid posts. I didnt notice this until i had already kegged two beers. One of the last two kegs i have wont fit the Gas post on the in side of the keg. It doesnt want to thread on. I took that post and threaded it on to the other keg with no problem and i put a liquid post on to the "problem" keg in with no problem.
I know that a gas disconect could go on to a liquid post and not vice versa, but the gas disconnect wont lock on the liquid post. I could crank it on with a wrench but i sure as sht dont want to strip the keg.
Whats my question? why wouldn't a gas post thread onto a cornelius keg? Aren't the posts standard?
Second question - why wont the gas line lock down on a bev post?
Unfortunately i dont have any additional gas posts to try on that keg so when they become available i will try it.
Maybe it isnt a cornelius keg. Hmm. i will check this out. i dont know why it matters though.
