Vermont Brewer's Fest Road Trip

Heading out on Thursday to head up to Burlington for the Vermont Brewer's Fest. Along the way the wife and I want to stop at some brew pubs. Looking to stay close to the highway. Some thoughts are Flying Goose, The Alchemist, and Jasper Murdoch's Ale House. I have been to 7 barrel before and will probably skip this trip. Please share your thoughts and experiences on the pubs and beers, as well as how far off the highway.

My concern for time off highway is from a recent trip to Long Trail. I thought they were right off the highway...40 minutes later we were there.

Also, was just on manchester brewing's website and noticed that they fill corny's for $30 or sell already filled cornies for $60. I want a few more kegs anyway. If the beer is good, sounds like a great deal. Please share.

Where are you coming from? Are you going up I89, or Rte 7?

I hear good things about Three Penny Taproom in Montpelier on Main Street, not far off the highway. If you continue north of Montpelier, you can make your way to Morrisville ( a bit of a trip ) and hit Rock Art ( I'd call first ). Then from Morrisville, head over to Waterbury for the Alchemist and get back on the highway.

Regrettably, I'm missing another year of the VT Brewers Festival. Have fun!

I am coming from RI, so I will be heading across I-89. The other stop I am considering is The Tap in Haverill, MA.

Pretty sure Manchester Brewing Company is no more. I'd call for sure. White Birch in Hooksett NH is very new and small so if you are going to stop there you need to call Bill first. Have fun.

I can't imagine what it's like in there right now with this heat. I expect the next time I see Bill, he'll be about 50 lbs lighter.

Wolaver's would kinda be a pain to get to from 89. Harpoon is in windsor about 20 south of white river on 91

Shed in stowe, Three Need on College ST burlington, Lawson's, if you do cider Cold hollow is just outside of stowe.
