Tasty in St. Louis 6/22-6/23

Okay we have to get out of this thread. Sorry JZ fans. Let's just say the evening of Wednesday 6/23 somewhere in St. Louis. if that's a conflict with a homebrew club meeting, that's perfect, I'll go to that, and we can do the meet-up on 6/22. We can discuss on a new thread at a later time. It will be a lot of fun.

I don't believe any of the 3 local clubs (Garage Brewers Society, St. Louis Brews or East Side Brewers) have meetings on those days so we should be good for the evening of 6/23. I'll start coordinating a location that'll allow us to bring homebrew. It would be best if we could get access to the Tap Room's cellar (or another brewpub) so I'll try to get ahold of Stephen at Schlafly this week to see if it's a possibility.

Thanks for taking the point on this Jim. Okay, 6/23 it is at a place and time to be named later. I'll have a limited amount of my homebrew but enough for everyone to get a taste. If others would also limit their homebrew to a reasonable quantity so that our host will sell a few pints, I think it could be a seed for a regular meet-up place. What I've found here in my area, is that each club has a number of people that are a little more into homebrewing than the other club members and we're starting to do some regional events that include all the clubs as well as those individuals without a club. I don't know if homebrewing is gaining popularity in the STL area but around here, it certainly is.

I'll be just getting into town from the National Homebrew Conference. I suspect others at our meet-up will be as well. I was thinking it would be fun and educational if those of us who attended might discuss some of the seminars that we attended and thought were particularly good. Of course, we'll recap all the weeks highlights up to the point of either boring those who couldn't make it or putting them into a rage of jealousy. 6/23 is pretty far away so I'm open to any and all ideas as far as the meet-up.

I heard back from Stephen at the Tap Room and he's cool with us having the event in the cellar.

Here are the details:
-The tasting will occur from 7pm-9pm (tentative) in the Tap Room cellar. I should get a confirmed time from Stephen in the next couple days.
-You will be directed upstairs at the end of the tasting window where you will be asked to remove any of your homebrew from the building. We all plan on hanging out upstairs drinking Schlafly products before and after the event.
-Schlafly will NOT provide food during the homebrew tasting in the cellar and outside food is NOT permitted. They have a restaurant upstairs that will sell you a really good meal before and after the tasting.
-Don't be a dick. Stephen and Brennan have gone way out of their way to let us hold this event.
-This tasting is limited to the first 50 people to sign-up in this thread.

So far I have 10 guys from my club (Garage Brewers Society) interested, so there are 40 spots remaining.

I hope you can too but let's be clear, I'm no celebrity. This meet-up is about BNers and beer enthusiasts in the St. Louis area getting together to share our passion. I WILL be one of the most passionate there though.
