Frozen Yeast

I helped a friend brew his first batch of beer yesterday. It was an extract kit with a Whitelabs vial. When he received the kit, I told him to put the hops in the freezer and the yeast in the refrigerator. He did the opposite!! Is the yeast still going to be viable?
