Subject: The Bruery Batch No. 01 Homebrew Contest

Hi all,

For you brewers that still homebrew, you might be interested in this. I'm opening a brewery in Southern California and to generate some interest before our opening, we're holding a homebrew contest. The winning beer will be brewed on a one-time basis as our first batch. The styles are limited to Belgian-style or Specialty beer categories. If you still homebrew, or have buddies or customers that might be interested in this, please pass the word on. We're also looking for judges too, if you're in the area on August 26th. More information is available at http://www.thebruery.com/

Thanks!

Cheers,

Patrick Rue, Brewer/Owner
The Bruery

It is open to homebrewers. The competition is limited to Categories 16, 18 and 23. Here's a chance to have your recipe brewed professionally.

I encourage everyone to enter! Pat is one of my friends and has been an avid homebrewer for several years. Plus the guy makes some kick ass beers! I have been to the Bruery and checked out his set-up it is pretty cool. But he has some work to do before batch 01.

I plan on entering his comp... but my beer will be quite young.

Thanks Macgruffus and Lars! It would be great to see a huge response from the BN Army. We've had a lot of positive response to the competition so far, so I expect there to be a lot of great entries. There's no entry fee, and win or not, I promise some there will be a surprise coming to those who enter.

Cheers,
Pat

You are welcome Pat. I also announced it at last night's homebrew club meeting (the Savannah Brewers League) so maybe you'll get some entries from Savannah. I may send you a couple of mine though I'm sure the transcontinental transport in the middle of summer (we're at a heat index of 102 right now) won't be the best for the beer! I've a biere de garde and an American ESB (Maris Otter with Amarillo) I'm pretty fond of right now.
