IBU Open is an AHA Sanctioned competition that Iowa Brewers Union holds each year in March. IBU takes entries from all over the country in all Homebrew, Mead, and Cider categories. Medals are given to the top 3 for each style with a best in show and a special IBU top hoppy beer. This years event is sponsored by Confluence Brewing and the judging is being held at Confluence Brewery in Des Moines, IA.

Judging:Sat, March 23rd 2013 beginning at 10:00 a.m

Medals will be awarded to winners of each category, Best of Show, IBU Challenge Champion and various prizes as well!
Also, after judging, we'll be hanging out and drinking Confluence brews along with home brews brought in by IBU. Guaranteed to be a great time!!

Damn...short notice. I'm going to be too busy with my NHC stuff, but maybe next year.

Yeah, sorry for the short notice. I just realized we hadn't posted anything here yet. I'll make sure to get the info out sooner next year!

We had about 350 entries last year and hope we can surpass that this year.

Do'h I have a beer that I would submit but it won't be carbed in time to submit..


I'm already screwed with the NHC and I can only submit 2 out of 4.
