its kind of funny that out of all the medals, only 2 of them are from the northeast. I know the competition is tough, but I think that its a direct result of poor first round judging that takes place in the NE. Last year I made it to the second round only because the organization was screwed up and they never judged my beers. I won two medals that year. This year they judged my mild ale that won gold last year and said that it was too mild (FG was 1.016, which would make it too "heavy").... douchebags!

Anyway....CONGRATS to all the winners!

The Brewing Network came in third - 4 points behind St Paul and 16 points behind DOZE. Nobody else was close.

Let's blow them all away next year!

Club Standings:

1. Diablo Order of Zymiracle Enthusiasts (DOZE) - 214
2. Saint Paul Homebrewers Club - 202
3. The Brewing Network - 198
4. Ale and Lager Enthusiasts of Saskatchewan (ALES) - 132
5. QUAFF - 114

I had heard that was a freaking mess last year. Part of the reason I didn't enter this time.

I'd like to see the BN win for a couple of reasons.

1. The same reason I liked to see DOZE win, it's good to see a club that isn't extremely competition focused win.
2. It is taking what QUAFF and SPHBC did (becoming multi-regional) and taking it to it's logical conclusion.

That said some people are going to try to change the rules this year (in fact, I heard through the grapevine at NHC that there were some people who wanted the BN to not receive the aware this year even if they won). It's a good thing that Justin is on the AHA board because at least he can see it coming if it comes. My hope is that anyone proposing to change the rules can explain why it was okay for the award to be won by multi-region clubs for a decade before anyone said anything.

you'd think I'd know the answer to this, but I don't. Is Jamil the only real out of town member of QUAFF or are there others?
Adopt a deaf dog. It will change your life in a positive way

Jamil Zainasheff has a walk in cooler.
Pamela Anderson has a walk in cooter.

I think he was the only one to score points in NHC regionals. Same with Gordon Strong and SPHBC.
