I will be new to NHC this year. What exactly goes down in the hospitality suite. I've heard some info about it but not sure.

I'm mixed on the banquet. Attending is a lot of fun. However, I felt particularly let down by the food last year after all the hype Paxton gets. I've eaten Paxtons food several a couple other times and loved it, but I didn't really enjoy the banquet food. I fully appreciate that it's different to cook for a smaller amount of people in staggered courses, when Paxton has complete control over the process, and when he cooks for around 1000+ people all the same course at the same time, where the hotel staff, not Paxton, is probably doing most of the cooking and he's supervising as best he can. It's like going to a wedding--how often do you get wedding food that's any good? Doesn't mean that the chef couldn't do a better job under better circumstances. Just means I wasn't particularly impressed by well-seasoned but rubbery pieces of chicken.

Hopefully next year will be East Coast and I'll F^$&&#ing walk it if I have to.

Allegedly it will be in Philly in 2012.

Great. It's close to me the year I probably won't be able to attend. Damn having priorities in my life greater than beer!

Planning to go next year for my first time. Anyone who has wife/kids have any advice? Would like to do a mix of family stuff and beer stuff. Thinking about taking my niece along with us as a babysitter so wife and I can spend the evenings doing adult events. Anyone else bringing the wife and kids?

Hospitality suite is where the vendors set up to show off their stuff, and a homebrew club is assigned there to pour their beers for a set time.

NOW, the room where all the beer goes after the hospitality suite shuts down, and the BN'er's get together....usually a suite upstairs.....is where all the :asshat: :unicornrainbow: takes place
