Alabama Brew Off

Mon May 13, 2013 3:27 pm

Well since we finally got our homebrewing law updated to the 21st century there is going to be a homebrew competition.

Alabama Brew Off

I plan on judging at the competition.

Of course

I did just get this from one of the guys that is running the comp.

We decided to move the judging day to July 13th, and due date for beer has been pushed back a couple weeks. The date was originally chosen back in March to meet the AHA's deadline for getting listed on their calendar. Unfortunately the homebrew bill took longer to pass than we hoped, leaving too small a window for comfort.

Site has been updated and the AHA calendar will be soon.

They don't have the due date set yet but the site will be updated.

Am I reading this right? $1000 cash prize to the winner? Y'all are probably going to want to put a limit on the number of entries in that case.

Big congrats to Elbone for taking the BOS yesterday with a wonderful Cream Ale, to go with his 4(!) gold medals. Forcera also took home two or three medals.

Thanks man! I understand you really went to bat for my beer in the BOS judging. I know you didn't know it was mine, but thanks! Just talked to the brewers at Cahaba, we're planning a 7 bbl batch. I'm still in shock. :pop Here's to mowing the lawn!

Congrats to the winners and also Bokonon for taking a Bronze with his Helles, too!

(That's gotta be one of the "max distance" entry contenders.)
