Entry window for the Cascade Brewers Cup is about to open

Thu Feb 18, 2010 7:12 am

Calling all Asshats -

I volunteered to organize my homebrew club's competition this year - the Cascade Brewers Cup. It would be great to have more BNers enter this year. Anyone who places in a flight receives a prize. The next paragraph describes the where and when on entry submission, as well as some info on the fest we put on to announce the winners. This will be the first year that we can leagally pour homebrew at the event, and the plan is to have at least 5 homebrews on tap. PM me with any questions.

The window to submit entries for the 2010 Cascade Brewers Cup will open on Tuesday, February 23rd and will stay open until Wednesday, March 3rd. The Western Washington drop-off locations are shown below. For more information about the competition go to www.cascadebrewersclub.org. The first round of judging will take place on Saturday, March 6th. Entrants that place in the top three of each flight will receive a prize from one of our numerous and generous sponsors. All particpants are encouraged to attend the Cascade Brewers Cup ExBeerience event the following Saturday, March 13th at Redhook Brewery in Woodinville, WA, where the Best of Show will be judged and the winners of each flight and BOS announced.

Cheers,
Mike Brown - CBC Organizer

Been looking forward to this one, this will be my first comp. I've brewed three beers and will be sending them in soon!

Thanks for organizing everything, your website and registration process was slick and easy.

Tavish - I think it might be as simple as showing up early on the day of the event. I'll check and get back to you.

Enter them! We have about 11 beers that we may enter. My hope was that we would have enough entries that the Brown Brothers would be able to abstain from this competition. Looking at the list of donated prizes and gift certificates (over $3500 worth) has me thinking otherwise.

Tavish - I know we could use your help at the ExBeerience, so I will keep you in the loop on what time to show up on Saturday the 13th.

heh, it would be nice to not have you dominate the competition this year ;) but we definately are up to 9 that we will be entering. probably have number 10 bottled tonight and more over the weekend.

And as far as helping, Im down for anything. Laura and I are already signed up for the weekend before too.
Cheers!

I have 3 bottles of what has turned into mystery ESB. It was my second ESB attempt with extract and grains back in the day. Are the ingredient portions critical on the entry form?
