Virginia laws have changed

Sun Jul 01, 2012 9:59 pm

Not sure where to put this but I wanted to get this out there.
Today (Sunday) marked a huge step forward for Virginia. Today, two new laws went into affect.
First: It is now legal to buy full pints of beer at production breweries This is a huge step for Virginia as it puts the state in position to attract new business, especially those West Coast breweries wishing to expand East.
Second: Those of you who wish to start your own brewery may now be able to lease the available production space as a alternate proprietorship.
Just thought I'd get it out there just case any one was thinking of visit the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Nice! Tennessee adopted some pro- beer legislation, since where I live was competing with Roanoke for the Sierra brewery( I even had my hands on the building engineering !).They passed a law which raised the alcohol content a brewery could brew from 6% to (?? 15% ??) Too bad we lost Sierra and New Belgium to North Carolina, but both our states have made beer positive steps forward.

CT has been making changes too. It's nice to see that craft beer is changing the game. See what happens when states see new sources of revenue.
