I had a bad (I mean REALLY bad ) IPA from Avery last year. Fortunately someone other than me actually paid out some money for it. I've had the same beer on tap at the brewery and it was great there.
dood. the only bottle of brother thelonius i tried. it had this nasty fish-in-yo-face taste and aroma that everyone at the table recoiled from. still drank the beer, but had to wash the glasses 3 times to get rid of the smell! i'm thinking it was a contaminated cork and just a fluke. the next beer from north coast i had was the old stock ale and good-ness did it make up for it... anyhow, has anyone else ever got a fish off flavor in their beer? whassupwitdat?
