Dominion Spring Brew (Imperial Pilsener)

Sun Jun 26, 2005 2:13 pm

Bottling date of 09 Mar 2004. Very fresh stuff. 12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. Damn twist off cap, however. That's ok, I won't hold it against them. Poured out a bright, golden yellow color, with a sticky, white foamy head. The label says "Specialty Lager". Special, indeed. Aromas are of fresh maltiness, fresh cut hay, spritely hopiness, and slight aromas of honey. The noble hops make their presense known right away. The hops cut right through the malts in both aromas and flavors. No tastes or aromas of alcohol. It's very hard to believe this is an 8.5 % ABV beer. No diacetyl, crisp mouthfeel, and hoppy finish to it as well. Very well balanced, a truly world class beer from Old Dominion. I hope you Imperial fans can get some for yourself.
