750 ml. corked and caged big ole brown Belgian bottle. Date code of 16/03 is on the cork. Aged in my cellar for many months.Loud pop when opened. Poured out a dark caramel brown color, with a huge, tan colored head. It didn’t give up, and held on to the bottom of the Chimay chalice I drank it in. Lots of carbonation left in this beast of a beer. Aromas are of dried fruit, plums, raisins, figs, and apricots. Some slight peach notes shine through, along with the spices. Corriander, ginger, and some black pepper come through in both the aromas and the tastes. Strong aromas of sulfur when opened, they subside somewhat after it breathes for awhile. Tastes are about the same as the aromas, malts, sulfur, spices, yeasty bread. Medium mouthfeel. Finishes spicy, and somewhat dry. A decent Belgian, but not my favorite by far.
