Jolly Pumpkin - Oro de Calabaza

Tue Apr 27, 2010 6:45 pm

Jolly Pumpkin - Brewed in the Franco-Belgian tradition of strong golden ales. Spicy and peppery with a gentle hop bouquet and the beguiling influence of wild yeast.

I had this beer last night and it hammers your palate on the first sip.
It was like a Duvel consistency but with a huge Bret nose.
After the first few ounces I didn't know if I could finish the bottle.
At the middle of the bottle I was enjoying it for what it was and enjoyed the rest of the bottle.
For me - the Bret thinned this beer out a little too much for my liking.

All a matter of personal preference. I think it (like ALL Jolly Pumpkin beers) kicks ass.
