Corsendonk Agnus (Abbey Pale Ale)

750 ml. corked and caged brown bottle. $5.99 each at World Market in Alexandria, Va. Bottled on 10/16/02. Poured out a bright pale golden color, only a shade or two darker than Bud. Bright, white, foamy head, much like whipped egg whites. It has some darker yeast in the head. Slight chill haze also. Aromas are of yeasty bread, sweet hay, and slightly acidic malts. Not much in the hops aromas or flavors. Earthy, slightly sour taste, along with the classic Belgian yeast taste as well. Slick mouthfeel, slides down easily. This beer hides it's alcohol taste very well, but not it's effect. This beer will hit you fast and hard. Finishes sweet, but not cloying. A really decent triple beer overall.
