I'm now drinking my not even month old beer.
I swear this is the best beer I have ever fucking brewed. It is defiantly my best brown Porter, my 3rd attempt.
I had to substitute Wilamette for Fuggles I think his recipe called for?
I think next time I will up the chocolate malt just a tad. Gonna have to tweak it just like he said on the show.
We need a BN version of WWJD
What would Jamil Do?
No wonder he is the pope.

Congrats on the great beer, you ought to ship Jamil a bottle or two so he can give his opinion, and face it, I'm sure even Jamil like free beer!

Almost as much as I like hot women.

Man, this is why this forum is great. Titties and beer.
I just made JZ's brown porter last weekend, and so far it looks awesome. The only downside is that I made the batch for a friend, so now I'm going to have to make another for myself! Yesterday I made his Schwarzbier...and I am so stoked for it....and it's all for me, baby.
JZ, if you come back to this thread again, I just wanted to say that your Classic Styles book rocks. I got it for Xmas from my brother, and have been pouring through it nearly every night. Very entertaining and a great resource...it complements the Jamil show perfectly. One question though, how many of your recipes had names before and how hard was it to come up with new ones for the others! You must had some list of recipes you had to think up catchy titles for!
And yes, I said titties.

Thanks for the kind words about the book. A small portion of the recipes already had names and it seemed like it would be a daunting task to come up with names for the rest. Once I got started, it was pretty easy for most of the beers. There was usually some sort of story already, so the name has some relationship to that. John also helped with a some names where I drew a blank.
I've started posting corrections for the book at this site:
