Anyone have a starting point for a session rye pale ale?

The CYBI show has the Terrapin RyePA, which is a great recipe. Brewed it a few times and have thoroughly enjoyed it. My recipe isn't exactly a clone: I use Melanoidin Malt instead of honey malt, and Biscuit Malt instead of Victory Malt, because we can't get them here in Portugal. It's still a very sessionable beer. The Rye character comes through without being overpowering... check it out.

I'll give that a try. I'll have to replace the amarillo with centennial. I got shut of of Amarillo. I need this for wedding in July. I want to have one batch under my belt to adjust. The couple loves rye beers, but I really want the rye to be subtle enough for the entire party.

Also, I'm guessing the goldings are Styrian? Can't I just stick with Fuggles?

Hi there Susquehanna,

I'm moving to Lisbon in about 5 weeks. I'd certainly be keen to tap into some of your local knowledge if you are around.

Once you get that brew-sheet, PLEASE! post it. I would e-mail him too, but I don't want to bombard him.

I sent JZ an e-mail last week, and received the brew sheet this week-end....and this is what HE said: "Here you go. Please use this for your own information and do not post the log on the internet or share it with others. You can share the information you learn from it, just don't share the actual log sheet. Thanks. JZ"

So honoring his request.... I would e-mail him yourself.
