First beer suggestions

Thu Jun 17, 2010 10:50 am

I am looking to brew a beer for my brother's 21st birthday. As much as everyone may doubt it he is uncorrupted by “Big Beer” and would defiantly like to get him drinking good beer. Any suggestions?

Just my $ 0.02 do not totally throw him into the fire, but maybe half way, how about a west coast Pale Ale.
Not too hoppy, a bit of malt character, lots of flavor for a starter beer and it is not too hi an ABV.
I wish my big brother was this cool.
When I was 17 in 1977 I was turning him onto Molson Brador at 6.8%. That was about it for craft beer back then.
Good luck.

Start with a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale clone...considered to be a craft "gateway" beer.

Duvel/golden strong or a Saison, crafty and with kick. As its his 21st you might as well go for the golden strong its yellow and fizzy and will get everybody hammered! Then throw in some drunk jenga
