Victory Storm King Recipe, Need Help

Fri Jun 21, 2013 4:34 pm

Jotted down the recipe from the session. I can do the grain bill, that's easy in beersmith (build it to 10#, scale up the abv). The hops I am too retarded to figure out. Shooting for a 6 gallon batch. Anyone smart know how to do this (gonna cross post on HBT as well, will repost here if someone posts a response).

77% pils two row
12% two row vienna
5% roasted barley
5% carafa III
1% cararoma

65C - 45 mins
72C - 30 mins

21 plato SG
IBU = 85
50% cascade - 2/3rd at 15, remainder split between 5 and hop back
25% centenial 60, 30, 15
25% chinook 1/3rd at 5 minutes, remainder hop back

Three batches blended
54 -> 57 -> no higher than 62 degrees, that's pretty low for ale

Naragansett yeast deritivitve, originally came from old dominion

I was going to try to figure it out but the 25 % Centennial at 60, 30, 15 confused me. Shouldn't there be another addition or is it 33%

25% of overall hop bill, split in to thirds.

Ok so what I came up with is :
Centennial 1 oz addition at 60, 30, 15
Cascade 2 oz addition at 15, .5oz at 5, .5 oz in hopback
Chinook 1oz addition at 5, 2 oz in hopback

This should get you close depending on the aa%

Let's try this again.
Centennial .75 oz addition at 60, 30, 15 - 2.25 oz total - 25% - 10% aa
Cascade 3 oz addition at 15 , .75 at 5, .75 in hopback - 4.5 oz -50% - 5.5% aa
Chinook .75 oz at 5 , 1.5 oz in hopback - 2.25 - 25% - 13% aa

I put the hopback @ 20 in my recipe in beersmith and got 96 IBU. I can easily adjust from there. Good lookin out dude!
