Jamil's got one that should be very close in his book. It's the Northern English Brown recipe called Nutcastle on page 151.

I've got the recipes from BYO in Beersmith format if anyone is interested I actually scaled it so you end up with 2 5gal kegs by brewing 4 gal of the Old Ale and 6 gal of the Amber (Mild).

one of the last extract brews i did before going all grain was a Nukey clone kit from northern brewer. It came out quite nice and i would recommend it for sure. if you check their website, and kits they list the recipe for each. CHEERS!! Chris

Newky is actually 2 different beers combined. An Aged Dark ale and a lite pale ale.

a guy in our brew club actually called the newcastle brewer to interview him... turns out newcastle is no longer a blend. plus they use wheat extract (!) and some other adjuncts. he didn't get a full recipe from the brewer but got a good start, and he actually formulated a recipe but i don't have it handy.

i brought up the whole blend thing in the neeting because that's what i always heard, but sadly it looks like newcastle is trying to streamline and cut corners. this guy interviewed quite a few british breweries and unfortunately quite a few are struggling to hold on to their market share because bud is moving in and taking over, along with all that malt beverage, smirnoff ice junk. so there are a lot of shortcuts being taken to save money.

i brewed jayzee's nutcastle and that thing kicks all kinds of ass. try it out.
