Visual Notes
-------------
Very dark; even sunlight cannot piece the darkness! Very nice head, slightly brown color, with excellent belgien lace.

Bitter chocolate taste with firm, but smooth bitterness and very clean, dry finish at kegging. Carbonating to 2.5 volumes. After carbonation and one week of aging, retains smooth bittnerness. Chocolate notes are less pronounced and seems roasty.

The new and popular American Weizenporter? I'll have to look that one up in "Brewing Classic Styles."

I'd say this is just an underhopped Porter with some wheat malt added for head retention.

I'll add a 1/2 lb of flaked wheat or wheat malt for that reason into a lot of beer recipes just to get better head. (And WHO doesn't want better head?)

I would agree on the wheat addition. A little wheat can be added to any mash for a little head retention or slight wheaty sourness. As far as the rest of the resipe-take out the wheat and look it again, drink a few homebrews, and gain some clarity. A few homebrews always help me see the light.
