Magnum is a nice Noble-type hop, too. Why not use some of it at 20 and move the 20 minute Mt. Hood to flame out?
Should only need about 10 g. at 20 mins (assuming 14% AA Magnum). Or move the magnum to 15 and use a little more?
Or just add enough magnum into the whirlpool to bump up to 15 ibus. If your Mt. Hood is 4.75, and 28 g gives you about 10 IBUs in the whirlpool, you can get 5 more from the Magnum:
(28 * 4.75) = 10 IBUs.
28 * 4.75 / 2 = 5 IBUs
(wmag * AAmag) = (28 * 4.75) / 2
(wmag) = (28 * 4.75) / (2 * AAmag)
Sterling, Crystal, Mt. Hood, and Hallertaur can be pretty much substituted at will with each other.
Magnum is similar in flavor and aroma but much higher alpha.
There are many ways to skin this cat.
