Re: Pliny Recipe from Zymurgy 2010

I brewed this recipe almost two weeks ago. Primary has pretty well finished so I am about to hit it with the dry hops. Will report back in a few weeks when I am finished dry hopping and have it kegged up to drink.

Ok, I tapped the keg a few days ago after giving it time to carb and after a beat down of job interviews here. It is quite the tasty beer. From what I remember when I had it there at the Russian River brewpub, mine has a bit more bitterness to it and the simcoe is coming out a lot stronger than I remember it at the brewpub. I brewed it exactly as it said in Zymurgy, hit my OG, temp controlled the ferment and actually ended a few points lower on my gravity. It is still a tasty beer, but I don't think it is exactly cloned, but then without a bottle to do a side by side comparison, I am only basing that on a vague memory. Tasty recipe though!
