Super Styrian (Aurora) Hops

Sat Feb 27, 2016 12:23 pm

Does anyone have some experience using Super Styrian hops? I picked up a bag of them from Nikobrew when they were on sale to try out, but I can't find a whole lot online about them. Some places say citrus/spicy and some say floral. I was thinking of tossing them into an English bitter and maybe trying them out in a czech pilsner, maybe mixed with some Mt Hood or something.

Don't you just love the hop description characteristics they put out there? They always seem so varied to me, and sometimes the only way to really get an idea about them is to brew with them yourself.

I think you are making a good choice for using them in an ESB. They might be a bit too fruity for a czech pils but hey, this is homebrewing and that is the fun of it. If you do use them, let us know what you think.

I bet they will pair well with bitters, and belgian styles as well.
