Should I buy a counter pressure filler?

Hi. I want to start entering competitions, and all my beers are in kegs. I have heard some people say the counter pressure filler is necessary to keep the carbonation, and others talk about just purging the bottles with co2 and filling from the tap. What are peoples preferred methods? Has anybody experimented with both methods?
Any insight would be appreciated

cheers!
Ayla

You can use the "Tasty Method": flush with CO2, fill from the bottom with tubing off the tap.
You can use the BeerGun Method: same as the Tasty Method with a fancy piece of equipment.
You can use a traditional CP Filler: same as above 2 with slightly different physics.
Or you can use the Ozwald Method: Bottle it? Spend money on shipping? Not drink it myself? Screw that!
None are any better than the others, it just boils down to preference.

The issue with the counter pressure over the others is it really a 2 person job..you could do it by yourself but greatly increases your risk of shooting beer all over the place..
I love my blichmann beer gun, so that would be my recommendation , though the tasty method works just harder to do the actual co2 purge that way the gunn joins the two steps into one easy motion

I have the deluxe counter pressure beer gun from Morebeer and I love it. It can be a little complicated for the first 10 bottles you do but after that you will get the hang of it. I bottle by myself and have had no problems.

I love my Blichmann beer gun and even have separate tubing and rubber tip for my sour beers. It is easy to use and easy to clean.

I learned on an old school counter-pressure filler, so I'm used to that. Never have any problems with it, and it works great.
