what type of corkers work best for belgians?

If you want to cork and cage, then go with the Italian, Ferrari corker. It has the metal iris you need. I am not sure bout Portuguese ones.

The Portuguese ones are the same design as the Ferrari, just with more plastic components and not as ruggedly constructed, but for less than half the price. The Italian will run you ~$140, and the Portuguese ~$60. Both will let you adjust the depth to which the cork get's plunged, and I believe in a Brewing TV episode Dawson used a Port corker to do Belgians...
