kegerator mold

Mon Aug 08, 2011 5:54 pm

So i have been battling my kegerator all summer. its a 5.3 freezer and the collar seal isnt the best but it seals, however it gets a lot of condensation. its small so i cant fit much in besides my 3 kegs/co2 tank, but i have tried damprid and evadry both did not work. part of the problem is that i spill beer in there too. I use picnic taps inside so they leak a little after each pour etc, you know the deal.

anyway, today was the last straw, im tired of having to do a massive clean every 3 weeks or so.

so this is what i propose, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
i am going to make keg lake and put a small layer of sanitizer in the bottom of the freezer.

anyone have any reason why i shouldnt do this?
Just fine,

Reason 1. It aint sealed.
Reason 2. It wont work.
Reason 3. You will still have to clean that bastard out.
Just get a towel to leave your faucets on. Change it out everyday.
Work a few extra hours and get some perlicks! AND a drip tray!
