Split ring sized for Sanke keg

Wed Jun 01, 2011 7:42 am

Does anyone have a part / supplier for a split ring that would take the place of that annoying flat spring that holds the tube, ball valve et al inside the top connector of a standard Sanke keg? I want to reassemble to dispense some brew through a standard D coupler.

According to this site, http://www.physics.arizona.edu/~workman/homebrew/Sanke.html, it's 2". You could measure to verify. Mcmaster has them in stainless; 2" is part number 91580A246.

I use the McMaster 91580A246 ones and I replace the o-ring with their 9396K215.

Thanks for the info- I'm going with the split ring. Why stick with the factory slinky and have to deal with this piece of crap? I already have the pliers- insert the pins, squeeze and your done!

I usually have to give the retaining ring a little tap on top and the ID to seat in the groove, especially after they've been used many times.
