Hi all,

Now that the snow has melted and we're seeing some sun again, my mind is starting to turn to the summertime activities I enjoy like camping, boating, beaches, etc. But how do you all handle drinking your homebrew in such situations? It's not exactly convenient to carry around a lot of glassware and whatnot. It's easy to just toss a few cans of macro in a backpack to take on the boat, but obviously I'd rather drink my own. Keeping in mind that I have no kegging setup, what are some ways you all enjoy your brews on the go? Maybe just pop open several bottles and fill a few growlers? Not sure how long that would be good for. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

You could purchase a small PET dispensing system such as Tap-O-Draft.
Or another great item you could use, they make a small cap for regular pet bottles (coke, pepsi, etc...). Which has a standard CO2 Corny keg post on it. With this and a small CO2 charge you could fill PET bottles to take on the go with you. Look into those.

Yup, that is what I use to take samples to our club meetings....love the things, just wish they weren't $15/per....I just hit mine with a few seconds of pressure....and go.

Yep thats the one, I have several of those and they really are great little units. Plus should be noted that while they are a little bit of an investment especially if you want to get 2 or 3 of them, they are very durable and will most likely last you a life time.

Another nice thing is that you can use them on a 500ML bottle or one of those big a$$ 3 liter bottles. So that provide some variablity in what you take with you, which I really love. If I am going over to a friends house with a couple of things for them to try I take 500ML if I am going to a club meeting with a tasty IPA I take a liter or two.

Oh and thinks for posting the pic, whitebeard, works better then me trying to discribe it.

No idea how he does this and no idea what shipping costs but one of the local stores carries them for $11. I find most places closer to $20 than $15.

This is a cheaper solution (if you want multiple caps). We got some of these as a donation for our competition and they looked pretty cool.

I built a couple of those for just a couple bucks each. I used the chrome plated bolt-in truck stems. The regular auto stems have rubber in contact with the beer and imparts a nasty taste. I put together a short hose with a gas QD on one end and a regular air chuck on the other to use for pressurizing the bottles. I set the pressure high and give the bottle a squirt, shake the crap out of the bottle to get the gas into solution and repeat until I get the carbonation close to right.

When bottling why don't you just bottle a few in PET bottles as opposed to glass.
You will need to CO2 setup as you have said you don't keg. Your priming sugar will carb the PET bottle no differently than a glass bottle.
I am a noob but there is no reason not do this right?
I see no benefit to buy CO2 equipment, what am I missing?
