Poppet

I have a poppet on my corny that has gone bad. Is it worth tracking down a food grade o-ring to re-build or should I just go with a new poppet? I know the new poppet is cheap ($2.50-$3.50) but my LHBS does not have them and don't want to get banged with shipping costs for one poppet.

The body seems to be in good shape.

Thanks,

Curt

Speaking from experience, this situation will happen again. Why not order a 3-4 poppets and some other miscellaneous supplies you need (StarSan, PBW, tubing, etc.) and help mitigate the hit on shipping?

i would buy one from northern brewer, midwest supplies, or williams. get some dme or something, as they have flat-rate shipping. anything besides a new poppet is just asking for aggravation NOBODY wants! if you get shot in the face with your sweet and precious beer, you will wonder why you didn't spend the $3. (ask me how i know this)

keg connection has them quite cheap, but they only sell kegging supplies. i would go with midwest. they're cheap, shipping's not too bad, and you can get some general homebrew supplies you'll otherwise need while you're at it.

I lost an entire keg of beer due to a slow leak in my liquid side poppet. Don't screw around trying to fix, it's not worth it. buy a new one.
