Electric Kettles

I would like to build/buy an electric kettle, should I use a wort chiller or is there an easier way I only make 2.25 gallon batches.

Having a chiller saves a lot of time, especially for bigger batches. For smaller ones, not as much.
You might have issues trying to fit an immersion chiller into your kettle if you have electric heating elements in there sticking out.
But, based on the time/cost tradeoff, I'd consider using a plate chiller or CFC if I couldn't physically fit an immersion chiller in based on kettle geometry.
