Oh...I forgot to add that the stone is a .5 Micron Diffusion stone. It is metal, and I think it is stainless steel. Make sure you do not touch the end of it, the oils from your skin will damage it, or so I have been told by my LHBS.

Damage isn't the best word, but I've heard that the oils can clog the pores. I would assume (I don't own one) that a PBW soak would take care of that in short order though.

I just read this article about aeration with oxygen. It offered some good tips. The rest of the web site looks pretty good, too.

I recommend you add a HEPA filter to your O2 setup to ensure that you are pumping clean O2 into your wort.
I've heard stories that those little O2 canisters, which are made for folks doing some welding or other activities,
sometimes have oil or other potential contaminants inside that may
make it out along with the gas. While I have never personally seen oil come out,
I'd rather spend the extra 5 bucks on the filter than wonder/worry about it.

You can buy just the filter here:

Mine looks like yours but with the filter:

Oh yeah!!! I saw those filters on the shelf at my LHBS, but I thought they were for the air pump/stone combo. I will get one of those this next weekend for sure. Your right, better to be safe than sorry.

plus the diffusion stones might get clogged from potential particulate in the oxygen tanks as they are released into your tubing and stone.

If the oil from your fingers can clog it, I'd hate to imagine what the permissible contaminants from those O2 tanks would do. .5 micron is pretty small. (That's what she said. :D )
