I'm gonna be in San Diego in mid June. Here's the catch: I'll have my kids. 2 and6. We're going to Stone and Pizza Port because they're family friendly. Any other spots fit the bill? Alpine?

I do wanna hit Alpine, even if I have to sneak away for a bit. Also Societe. Anywhere else a must go?

Green Flash is great and a must-visit but it's just a tasting area in the brewery (at least that's what it was in 2010 during NHC). Also, Alesmith and Lost Abbey.

Thanks! Love all 3 of those breweries. Since I have limited sneak away time, I'm trying to go mostly to places that have hard to find or draft only releases.

Alpine would be a must for me. Next time I go to San Diego, I'd likely just spend the day there. The IPAs were epic, and the food was pretty goood too.

Is Alpine family friendly?

Alpine has both a brewery side and a small restaurant side. I doubt the brewery is open to kids. It's too small. I don't know why the restaurant wouldn't be though. It's small also, but nothing anti-kids.

I would check out Obriens pub. They have every single must have IPA on draft most of the time. I take my 3 year old for lunch all the time after the zoo.

Alpine is VERY small but at least go to get some beers. Where are you staying? That may help a little.....

+1 on O'Briens.

They set up a pre-conference event there before NHC a couple years ago. They wouldn't have picked it if it wasn't good. (I went and it was crowded as all hell, but the tap list was great!)

All times are UTC - 8 hours
