water question for terrapin rye pale ale clone

Wed Jan 27, 2010 10:03 am

I have really hard water.Off the chart high ph and hardness in south GA. well water. I do a redneck style water fix which actually works pretty well. For beers needing hard water I add about 1/4 R/O, Medium to soft 1/2 - 1/3 R/o. And really soft 1/2 or more R/O mixed with my well water. Any ideas on the mix I should concoct for the terrapin. I know he added gypsum and CaCl. Or is it time to take the dive go all R/O and mix it up. I still don't have a good understanding of treating your own water. I kind of fall asleep when thinking about it. :pop :pop

If you don't get any replies to this, you might shoot John Palmer a PM and ask him direct! I have no idea myself....just thought I'd throw that out there. G/L
